A. Information You Provide

 

We collect personal data when you:

  • Sign up for an account on our website or mobile app

  • Make a purchase through our online shop

  • Upload children's artwork to your gallery

  • Participate in a partnership program

  • Contact customer support

This data may include:

  • Identifiers: Name, email address, phone number, and billing/shipping address

  • Payment Information: Limited details necessary to process transactions. Payments are handled by third-party processors and we do not store full payment details.

    Royalty Payouts: When a child's royalty balance reaches the payout threshold, we contact the parent or guardian via the email address on file to arrange a one-time payment. We do not store any payment account details. Payout is coordinated directly and any information shared during that process is not retained by pixyit.

    Artwork: Digital images and related content uploaded by users, including titles, stories, dates, and descriptions associated with the artwork

B. Partner Program Data

When pixyit works with partners to run programs, such as community events, organizational activations, or interactive kiosk experiences, we may collect information to support those programs, including:

  • Participant first names and age or grade level (provided by a parent, guardian, or authorized program organizer)

  • Artwork submitted through partner programs or kiosks

  • Event or participation records

We collect only the minimum information necessary to run partner programs. We do not collect participant data beyond what is needed to display, celebrate, and support kids' creativity.

pixyit is designed to be used with parental consent. We encourage partners to obtain appropriate permissions before enrolling participants in pixyit programs.

C. Automatically Collected Data

  • Technical Data: IP address, browser type, operating system

  • Usage Data: Time spent on the site, pages visited, app interactions, kiosk interactions

  • Hosting: Our website is hosted on Wix, which may collect visitor information according to its own privacy policy.

2. How We Use Your Information​

 

We use collected data to:

  • Operate and improve our website, app, and partner programs

  • Display user-submitted artwork in our gallery and partner showcases

  • Process orders and deliver products

  • Process royalty payouts to eligible participants

  • Support partner programs

  • Respond to customer inquiries and provide support

  • Send order updates and occasional emails about pixyit programs (you may opt out at any time)

 

We do not sell user data to third parties.

3. Children's Privacy & COPPA Compliance​

 

We take children's privacy seriously. pixyit complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

  • We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children under 13.

  • Parents or legal guardians may create accounts, upload artwork created by children under 13, and manage all submissions and purchases on their child's behalf.

  • Children under 13 are not permitted to create accounts or submit information directly.

If we learn that we have collected personal data from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will delete it promptly. Please contact us at privacy@pixyit.com with any concerns or deletion requests.

4. Educational Partner Programs and FERPA

When pixyit works with schools or educational institutions, we recognize that student information may be subject to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). In those cases:

  • We act as a service provider to the institution, not an independent data controller for student records.

  • We use participant information only to provide the agreed program services.

  • We do not disclose participant information to third parties except as needed to operate the program.

  • Educational partners retain control over student records and may request deletion at any time.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies​

 

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate our website, improve user experience, support account login and checkout, remember preferences, and understand how visitors interact with our Services.

7. Data Retention

 

We retain personal data for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described in this policy. General guidelines:

  • Account information: Retained while your account is active and for up to 3 years after account closure, unless deletion is requested earlier

  • Order records: Retained for 7 years for tax, legal, and accounting purposes

  • Artwork and gallery content: Retained while your account is active. You may request removal at any time, subject to the limitations described in our Terms of Use.

  • Royalty payment records: Retained for 7 years for tax and legal compliance

  • Partner program records: Retained for the duration of the partnership and up to 2 years after, unless earlier deletion is requested

8. California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) Rights

 

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
